Pick Me Up Festival.

01 May 2014

It's been my second time to the graphic art fair Pick Me Up festival at Somerset House in London. The exhibition is a collection of independent artists, graphic art, a series of talks, live music, workshops and other events. It's a a fun and informal festival featuring quirky studio spaces offering plenty of original and affordable artwork, limited edition prints and colourful tees to tempt your wallets. It's interesting to see how massively different the artistic styles are from one to another. Needless to say, it's great to see what's going on and what's coming up - although I liked the last year's show much more, there were a couple of artists which I really enjoyed their work.
^^One of my my favourite illustrators is Thibaud Herem (left). Thibaud is a French illustrator based in East London. He specialises in producing detailed architectural drawings using pencil and ink. He goes against the trends in illustration and adopts a very detailed, slow technique (cross hatched drawing) and the result is a drawing that needs time to read. ^^
Pick Me Up is on until the 5th of May, open daily from 10am to 6pm. It's well worth a visit!

Have a great Thursday! :)
