While I was looking around for cool shops on New Row St. in Covent Garden, I came across LaGelatiera. When I stepped in, I completely fell in love with the interior, designed by Hendzel + Hun. Hand-crafted furniture constructed from reclaimed materials, wooden crates attached to walls as storage units, hessian throws, raw surfaces and natural colours created an aesthetic that underlined the organic quality of the ice creams. The contrast between the rustic space and the smooth and heavenly ice creams and sorbets made the space even more interesting.
La Gelatiera's ice creams are freshly made every day in small batches using healthy seasonal ingredients to create unique flavours, never tasted before in London. The gelato is free of any artificial flavourings, colourings and non-natural thickeners, making it a "guilt-free" treat. There's an in-house laboratory inside their shop to see the gelato churning process (which I didn't know about!). They are also dedicated to serve the best coffee in London using wood-fire roasted coffee beans that produce an intoxicating hazelnut aroma and the most exquisite espresso you'll ever taste. Sounds great, eh?! If I could have a gelato shop, then this is definitely how it would look like! :)
^^The nice chap who let me take the pictures!^^
If you are in London, make sure to visit La Gelatiera. This is one of those cool little Cafès not to be missed. You can check their address and opening hours here.
Have a great Monday!
(oh and La Gelatiera is closed on Mondays!)
